Only By His Spirit

January 1, 2024

12.31.2023 and 1.1.2024

It's the first day of 2024. Behold He does a new thing and all things that were old are no more.

Our end of the year Friendship Sunday and New Years Eve service was powerful. The Holy Spirit of God moved in the room.

As Pastor CJ prayed we ushered in His Holy Spirit. God visited us and provided confirmations with all the testimonies shared, songs played, prayers and words spoken.

Before we start service we always pray "Lord Jesus take control" and He always does. We oftentimes create a "program/agenda" but HE is the program so we listen to His Voice as He leads the service and takes over. Our mission is to go back to the books of Acts' church.

LOTS of Testimonies were shared (freedom from suicide, freedom from depression, awarded scholarships, healing after a divorce, etc). Lives were changed, healing came, and we prayed for the Spirit of God to lead us in 2024. We also heard Him say, the fear of the Lord must return to us. Do His will. Don't forget about what you experienced on 12-31-2023.

Isaiah 11:2 "The Spirit of the LORD shall rest upon Him, The Spirit of wisdom and understanding, The Spirit of counsel and might, The Spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD."

We learned that in the new year we all have goals, dreams, vision, but if we don't seek first His Kingdom and His righteouness then we can't accomplish anything. Matthew 6:33 says seek Him first. Ask Him first to reveal to you His goals for you this year.

Ask God as you're entering into the new year, what are the things YOU want me to accomplish this year because if it's His will then you will indeed accomplish them. It's only by the Spirit of God. Not by might, not by power, but by the Spirit says the LORD.

Zechariah 4 1

"I asked the angel who talked with me, "What are these, my lord?" He answered, "Do you not know what these are?" "No, my lord," I replied. So he said to me, "This is the word of the LORD to Zerubbabel: `Not by might nor by power, but by my Spirit,' says the LORD Almighty. "What are you, O mighty mountain?"

We live only because of the Spirit of God. He's given us so much peace and restoration. Let us always remember that He is good.

Obedience is better than sacrifice. Obey God. We heard a powerful testimony from our Brother James of how God took his family on a journey of daily bread and He had to obey.

The film we watched at 7pm "The Shift" also showed us how God restores and the main character chose to obey God versus the devil.

In summary, our dear Pastor Edem shared a phrase that is profound. "New Year, Same God".

He doesn't change.

May His peace reign in your life.

If you missed the church service, please watch it here.
